The Hot Tools dryer has a polarized plug (one blade is wider than the other). As a safety feature, this plug will fit into apolarized outlet only one way. if the plug does not fit fully in the out let, reverse the plug. if it still does not fit, contact a qualified electrician. Do not attempt to defeat this afety feature. In the event of immersion, the protective devicewill not allow the appliance to operate. Periodically check the safety plug to verify it is in proper working order. Simply place the plug into the outlet and press the test button. The dryer should immediately stop. To resume operating the dryer, press the reset button. In the event the test button does not work properly, return the appliance to a service center or the manufacturer.
DUAL VOLTAGE: To change the voltage, use a small screwdriver. Be certain the appliance is "OFF." For sure in the U.S.A., the Voltage selector switch should be plaved in the 125-volt position. Confirm the voltage available at each overseas loctaion before using this appliance. For connection to a 250-volts supply, use an attachment polug adapter of the proper configuration for the power supply receptable.
IMPORTANT NOT: The dryer switch must be in and remain in the "low" operating postion when using 250 volts. this is normal for dual voltage appliance.
USER MAINTENANCE INSTRUCTIONS: This appliance is equipped with a thermostat that may cycle OFF if the temerature exceeds comfort level due to the partially blocked air inlet or air outlet openings. In the event that the appliance stops during use, turn off the switches and allow the appliance to cool down at which time the thermostat will automatically reset. During use, do not black openings. When using this appliance near water (e.g., batherrooms), the use of an electrical outlet protected by a ground fault circuit interrupter is recommended.
